DevOps Engineer

Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)

The Opportunity

Our client, a growing and innovative organisation based in Dublin, is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their expanding technology team

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking company operating a modern, cloud-native stack within AWS, where DevOps best practices and automation are central to engineering success.


The Role

As the DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available systems. You will work closely with software engineering teams to enhance deployment processes, system reliability, and infrastructure automation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines

  • Build, optimise, and maintain infrastructure within AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, etc.)

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Manage containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes

  • Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability across platforms

  • Drive automation to improve deployment frequency and system resilience

  • Implement security best practices within a DevSecOps framework

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to streamline development workflows

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while implementing long-term stability improvements


Required Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE position

  • Strong hands-on expertise across the AWS ecosystem

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)

  • Proven experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation

  • Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes

  • Scripting experience (Bash, Python, or similar)

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)

  • Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and scalable system architecture

  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments


Desirable

  • Experience working with microservices architectures

  • Exposure to serverless environments

  • Understanding of AWS cost optimisation strategies

  • Relevant AWS certifications

  • Experience within regulated or high-availability environments
